Governor Inslee to release Washington jobs plan

Washington Governor Jay Inslee will unveil his "Washington Jobs Agenda" at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at a press conference.

The state currently has a 7.6 percent unemployment rate and nearly $1 billion deficit, so he faces a challenge.

Governor Inslee has said his proposal will create and sustain a thriving economic climate to spur job growth throughout the state.

While Governor Inslee has kept details of his plan mostly secret, it's expected to cover innovation in aerospace technology, education and employment opportunities for at-risk youth, and increasing the focus on math, technology, and engineering in schools.

During his campaign, Governor Inslee promised no new taxes, but it's possible that he will extend existing taxes that are about to run out.
